WELL on our way and Wired for excellence

The Clarendon Works, the best-in-class workplace under development in Watford, is officially on track to become one of the UK’s healthiest buildings having become WELL Precertified.

The accreditation reflects the attention we’re placing on transforming health and wellbeing outcomes for the future employees who will call The Clarendon Works their workplace.

The WELL Building Standard, which we explain in more depth here, is an international performance-based assessment methodology, grounded in medical research, that is exclusively focused on human health and wellbeing in the built environment.

There are seven key criteria covered by WELL – air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort, and mind – and The Clarendon Works is being developed to meeting exacting standards on each of these. These include factors like ensuring there is abundant natural light, fresh air, specially filtrated drinking water, healthy eating options, indoor planting, noise reduction measures, and a layout aimed at encouraging movement around the workplace. Shared amenity spaces in the building and a rooftop café and terrace also offer places for employees to relax and interact with others.

This accreditation is the latest milestone in our ambition to ensure The Clarendon Works achieves WELL Platinum certification, the highest standard possible and one that only a handful of other buildings in the entirety of the UK have achieved.

Adhering to the WELL Building Standard is just one of the ways that we’re proving The Clarendon Works truly is best-in-class. We have also achieved a WiredScore Platinum rating. A WiredScore certified building offers seamless digital connectivity, offering a quality employee experience for all organisations that take space in the building. It sets out The Clarendon Works as a workplace that is forward-thinking and will be able to support companies within it with whatever new technology they bring or seek to implement in their office spaces. The Platinum rating confirms The Clarendon Works is Watford’s best connected building.

Paul Eden, co-founder of Regal London, said: “The Clarendon Works will be a workplace that empowers the individuals and companies that will occupy it, providing an environment that seeks to support their health and wellbeing while giving them all the tools they need to do what they do in an exceptional way. Achieving WELL Precertified and WiredScore Platinum for The Clarendon Works is a pivotal milestone in creating a workplace on another level for Watford and the south east.”
